-May use one or more of a variety of methods-painting, sculpting, or illustration and an assortment of materials, including oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, pencils, pen and ink, plaster, clay, and computers.
-Work involves preparation of various types of surfaces for painting and the application of paint by use of spray guns, rollers, brushes, or sponges, etc.
-Work is performed under general supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained
-Mixes and matches paints, varnishes, lacquers, shellacs, stains, sealers, tints, dyes, and other coatings and finishes.
-Refinishes and restores interior and exterior painted surfaces.
-Final responsibility for product safety and surface finish falls to the painters, including patching.
-Uses efficient work processes, meets output requirements.
-Work and communicate as a team member.
-Inspects equipment regularly and ensures equipment is in safe operating conditions at all times.
-Complies with safety regulations, and promotes workplace safety.
-Report all instances of unsafe acts or equipment.
-Ability to communicate clearly with supervisor.
-May be required to do other jobs in shop necessary to maintain production quotas. (i.e.) assembler, material handler or shipping/receiving as needed.
-Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work late nights and weekends.
