STAGES St. Louis, a professional musical theatre company entering our 34th season, is seeking a Scenic Charge Artist to join our 2020 Seasonal Production Staff. Our 2020 Season will consist of three large-scale musicals: A Chorus Line, La Cage aux Folles, Always… Patsy Cline, and the theatre for young audience production, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland.

Scenic Charge Artist
The Scenic Charge Artist works with the Director, Scenic Designer, Technical Director, and their own staff to paint all scenic elements (scenery, drops, props, floors, etc.) for each production. They are responsible for the supervision of the paint crew, paint budget reporting, creating a schedule, and attending all design and production meetings as necessary. The Scenic Charge Artist should be skilled in traditional scenic painting, drop and scrim painting, basic carpentry tools, upholstery, soft goods, crafts, and faux finishing. They may be asked to do certain scenic treatments as required by the designer, including foam carving, and development of painting methods. Contract runs from Mid-April/May through early September. There is some flexibility on contract dates. Limited housing is available.

Compensation:
– Pay starts at $750/wk, DOE biweekly.
– Reduced priced tickets for each production you work on.
