The Lake Dillon Theatre Company, an Equity theatre in Silverthorne, CO is currently accepting applications for a Scenic Charge Artist for the 2019 Summer Season. Productions include: Tell Me on a Sunday, Mamma Mia, Every Brilliant Thing, and Barefoot in the Park

SUMMER SEASON 2019: The Scenic Charge Artist will paint, all scenic elements for the productions while on contract. This position will also work closely with the Properties Master to assist in the painting and construction of specific props.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Build all sets and scenic pieces. Ensure sets are painted and furnished as per direction from the Technical Director. Each set is to be ready and loaded in before Sunday of each tech week and should reflect high artistic quality and professional attention to detail. Maintenance of scenic pieces during contract period. Any repairs needed during the course of the production are to be administered before the next scheduled performance.

TECHNICAL PROCESS: The Scenic Charge Artist is required to be on-site for all required shop/build hours, load-ins, strikes, and other technical rehearsals as needed.

MAINTENANCE: Proper use and maintenance of all shop equipment, tools, and scenic materials. Report needs for repairs or replacement to Technical Director. Maintain the shop and backstage area in a neat and orderly fashion. Proper use of tools and safety equipment required at all times in the shop areas during construction.

STRIKE / CHANGEOVER: Participate in all set strikes and changeovers of productions and special event and conduct such activity in an organized, friendly, and efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS: BA or BFA (preferred) in technical theatre, or comparable work experience. Strong scenic painting and carpentry skills for theatre required. Display a positive attitude with a focus on people and our community. Must demonstrate professional conduct at all times. Comfortable working with both hired crew and volunteers of varying experience and abilities. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Ability to decipher drafting plates, elevations, ground plans, and other design elements whether handwritten or via technology like VectorWorks, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMAND: This job requires climbing stairs, using ladders, scissor lifts, and power tools. Must be able to correctly and safely operate shop tools, saws, drills, and other machinery. There is also a certain amount of lifting and carrying of weights of up to approximately one hundred pounds.

Starting at $450 /week DOE
