Playhouse Stage Company is seeking an experienced Scenic Charge Artist for its 35th summer season of theatrical productions in New York’s Capital Region. The position includes opportunities for on-going hiring beyond the upcoming summer season.

The Scenic Charge is responsible for the direct leadership of the paint department for all shows produced during the summer season, and helps to assist other departments where available as well. This position is a hands-on position that requires significant experience in scenic artistry.

Playhouse Stage Company has been producing free, live, outdoor Broadway-style musicals in Albany’s historic Washington Park for 35 years. Our 1,500 seat amphitheater comes alive each summer as our technical staff builds not only the stage but also the entire theatrical rig that make our shows magical for audiences under the stars. Productions are a mix of professional and youth-performed shows at our indoor and outdoor venues, this season featuring Something Rotten, Secret Garden and Joseph + the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
