SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment seeks a scenic arts craftsperson.

Requirements and Competencies:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus relevant technical coursework
• Must have at least 2 years related job experience or demonstration of proficiency in related skill ranges
• Must have construction experience sufficient to ensure proper execution of scenic and general carpentry projects
• Must have experience with a variety of paint mediums
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and specification documents
• Must have past participation in production process and special assignments
• Must be able to climb a ladder and work at heights between 6 and 65 feet
• Must be able to stand, bend or kneel for long periods of time
• Must be able to bend, reach, twist and turn with complete flexibility
• Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds
• Must be comfortable working in theater and outdoor environments (dark/nighttime conditions, in/around water, in varying weather conditions)
• Must be comfortable working around animals
• Must be comfortable with exposure to noise and vibrations
• Must be able to train on and properly use protective gear
• Must be comfortable working around fumes/dust/odor
• Must be available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts, as well as event rehearsal shifts

Desired Qualifications

• Possession of a valid state driver’s license preferred

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with the fabrication, installation/strike and maintenance/repair of props, set pieces and decor
• Handle, install/strike and maintain flags and banners
• Train new employees
• Assist with layout/preparation, painting and maintenance of murals and faux-finished elements
• Assist with material inventory process
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and vehicles
• Assist in store sets and re-merchandising per company and department merchandising standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Pay: $13.00- $19.83 biweekly
