Peninsula Players Theatre in Door County, WI is America’s oldest professional resident summer theatre. 2023 will be our 88th season! Peninsula Players Theatre is a professional Equity company that performs in an all-weather open-air theatre along the scenic shores of Green Bay in beautiful Fish Creek, Wisconsin. Job responsibilities:
Works independently to paint all Scenic pieces, including stage floor, as depicted in paint elevations provided by Scenic Designer
Create list of supplies needed, including paint; Artist can procure supplies if desired, or can provide a list to Production Management to be procured
If needed, and if extra hands are available to assist the artist, provide instruction to any resident staff members or interns who are able to assist artist in less-skilled tasks
Provide paint kit and any necessary instructions for post-departure touch-ups done by resident staff
Attend production meetings and other meetings as necessary (only once artist has arrived on property)

Skills:
Intermediate to advanced scenic art skills
Ability to solve problems efficiently; excellent time management skills in a fast paced environment
Ability to work independently, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines
Understanding of theatrical practices
Team-oriented attitude

Dates:
Artist arrival date on campus is approximately 11 days before opening, and departure date is the day following opening. For the 2023 season, those dates are as follows:
Show #1: Arrival Sunday, June 4th; Departure Wednesday, June 14th
Show #2: Arrival Sunday, June 25th; Departure Friday, July 7th
Show #3: Arrival Sunday, July 16th; Departure Friday, July 28th

The rate for this position is $1,600.00, paid via 1099. Travel stipend provided. Artist is housed on property, at no cost. Meals are provided to artist at no cost.

We are open to one person painting all three shows, or any combination of shows.
