Starting Salary $42,000.00 with benefits biweekly
Fulton Theatre is in search of a full time Scenic Artist
Responsibilities for this position shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
– Assisting Charge Scenic on painting and finishing scenic elements and backdrops
– Occasionally supervising a crew of scenic over hire on individual projects
Preferred candidates will have:
– Ability to work independently or on a team
– Follow directions and learn new skills quickly
– Confidence as an artist
– knowledge of Stagecraft, Art history, Architecture, Drawing, Drafting
– Knowledge of color theory + value
– Knowledge of Scenic art tools + techniques (textural coatings, Priming, finishing, and Faux finishing)
– Experience with Translucencies and Scrims
– Valid driver’s license

Fulton Theatre operates under an agreement between the League of Resident Theatres (LORT) and Actors’ Equity Association, the Union for Professional Actors and Stage Managers in the United States and employs members of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and United Scenic Artists. The theatre is also a member of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, Theatre for Young Audiences/USA, and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1969 by the U.S. Department of the Interior, the theatre was also a founding member of the League of Historic American Theatres
