Global Scenic Services is a well established scene shop in Bridgeport, CT specializing in all phases of fabrication of scenic elements for live events, themed entertainment and Broadway theater. This is a non-union position.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in all aspects of theatrical and commercial scenic treatments.
* Excellent work ethics, and able to be a supportive team member.
* Organized self motivated/self starter.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
•Paint various props (ex. – wood graining, stone finishes, faux finishes, aging, and textures)including all built scenery, floor cloths, decks, back drops, etc.
•Perform layout, sculpting, theming and painting of various props from company Art Direction and/or conceptual drawings.
•Perform air brush and conventional spraying, fades and blending. Clear coats, polishing, and buffing.
•Perform substrate prepping per specifications. (wood, MDF, metals, fiberglass, GFRC, GFRG, drywall)
•Documentation of paints and procedures per company procedures.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsible for a thorough knowledge of paints, performance characteristics and correct application techniques in order to meet Designer intent.
Efficient usage and maintenance of a wide range of scenic supplies, tools, and materials
Knowledge of all phases of paint, fiberglass and sculpting are needed to be successful in this job classification.
