Shakespeare + Company seeks a seasonal, full-time Props and Paints Artisan for late May through the end of August. The Props and Paints Artisan’s responsibilities include working with the Props Charge on pulling, construction, shopping / sourcing, finishing and maintaining props for Shakespeare + Company’s productions while working with the Paint Charge on painting and finishing set and prop pieces, maintaining all paint and related stock, supplies and equipment used. The Props and Paints Artisan shall work closely with the T.D. and others assigned to ensure shop safety and safe practices, and to maintain the equipment used. This position will require familiarity with Microsoft Office; a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record; a familiarity with power and hand tools; sitting, standing, pushing and pulling, climbing and stooping; reaching with hands and arms; use of hands to finger objects and controls; lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds; close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision; and reading of written, printed and/or computer screen data.
