Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre is seeking a skilled Charge Artist for their 2023 Season.

Position Summary:
The Charge Artist is responsible for leading the painting of AST’s two show season. The Paint Charge will work closely with the Scenic Designer and Technical director to coordinate a timely schedule to deliver all finished scenic pieces for assembly by the Technical Director and crew.

Hourly Pay
40 Hour work week M-F. Hours may vary during tech or show weeks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for working with artistic and technical staff to plan, acquire, and execute all the designs for the season’s productions.
Working with the Production Manager in keeping current and obtaining additional paint inventory as needed and staying in budget.
Mentor the Paint Intern.
Attend rehearsals as needed.

Job Requirements:
Scenic painting experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of theatrical production
Leadership abilities
Strong organizational skills
Commitment to Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre’s mission
