Park Playhouse is seeking individuals for employment as a Charge Artist for our 2019 summer season. Park Playhouse Produces 2 main stage shows in an outdoor amphitheater in Albany’s Historic Washington Park as well as 2 second stage shows in the Cohoes Music Hall. The Charge Artist will work with the Scenic Designer and Technical Director to handle all scenic painting needs as well as provide running crew and changeover support for all shows during the season as well as additional support to other technical departments as needed.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who can prioritize and execute required duties. Qualified applicants should have a strong background in scenic art techniques and the ability to lead a crew, safe working habits. Proficiency in hand and power tools are a plus. Applicants should be highly motivated, able to lift up to 75lbs, have a positive mentality and ready to work in a fun and exciting environment in the beautiful Capital Region of New York. All contracts include salary and furnished shared housing (private bedroom in shared apartment).

Park Playhouse augments the quality of life for a diverse audience in the Capital District by producing FREE theatre in an outdoor setting, mounting high quality productions at venues throughout the region and providing arts education programs to young people in the community. By providing free and affordable admission at our productions, we make theatre an all-inclusive art form, accessible to people from all walks of life and socio-economic backgrounds.
