The Cumberland County Playhouse seeks talented Head Scenic Artist to join our summer staff. The Playhouse is the oldest regional theater in the state of TN just having celebrated our 57th season. We have two indoor spaces; a 500 seat Mainstage and a 260 seat Black Box, we are also fortunate enough to have an outdoor space. We are a year a round theater, but this position is suited for our Summer Season in which we will be doing Disney’s Cinderella, Escape to Margaritaville (both on our mainstage) as well as a black box production yet to be determined. You would also help finish up On Golden Pond that will be going into tech when you arrive. The perfect candidate will not only be an exceptional scenic artist but will also be experienced in running the paint shop, coordinating with technical director on paint schedules, know how to delegate and run a crew as well as being able to work in a timely manner. Head Scenic Artist will be working closely with Resident Scenic Artist (who will be an assistant during the summer season), a scenic painter, interns and volunteers. The Playhouse is taking every effort for the health and safety of the volunteers, staff, and patrons during the COVID-19 pandemic. Disinfectant is used to clean all areas before and after occupancy and all staffs are dedicated to wearing masks while inside the buildings.
