Position Objective

Paint and finish scenic elements based on a plan drawing or request.

Core Responsibilities
Paint and finish scenic elements to meet ATOMIC and client standards.
Maintain a clean and organized paint floor.
Clean and maintain all paint department tools. Keep accurate records of inventory usage.
Ensure scenic elements are removed from paint floor, properly prepared and delivered as specified.
Provide skilled contributions in any ATOMIC Profit Center and position as needed.
Contribute to the development of a safety culture.

Organizational Relationships

The Scenic Artist reports to the Paint Shop Lead.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of theater terms and procedures.
Able to use techniques to create texture, illusion and uniformity.
Solid knowledge of paint shop tools and supplies.
Experience with rolling, brushing, airless spraying and HVLP.
Strong communication skills.
Strong time management skills.
Creative problem solving skills.
Ability to read drawings and ground plans.
Ability to read designer paint renderings, moving from research to a “show finish.”
Ability to multi-task and work efficiently.

Credentials & Experience

Scenic Artist or a Fine Arts background preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Those necessary for general warehouse work.

Work Environment

Typical manufacturing environment for the majority of the time with occasional offsite work at industry-based venues.


$20 – $22/hour with full benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD, 401k, PTO, Wellness, Etc.)
