Pay

$5000 plus $300 monthly housing stipend flat fee

I. POSITION OBJECTIVES: To provide excellent assistance in the areas of scenic construction and painting for ECCT productions, rentals and special events. To assist with day to day facilities operations and maintenance of scenic equipment for ECCT and The Oxford. To be an active member of the Production Staff, assisting in the areas of sound, lighting and properties as capable.

II. POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:

Salary/Benefits:$5000 plus $300 monthly housing stipend
Schedule: January 3-May 22, 2022
Full time salaried position; schedule will flex between daytime, evening and weekend hours depending on ECCT production schedule

III. POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Production Manager
Supervises: Community volunteers
Coordinates with: Volunteer crew heads

IV. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Working toward BA/BS in Technical Theatre, Scenic Construction or Design, Tech Ed or related field desired or comparable scene shop experience
• Demonstrated ability in scenic construction and painting
• Knowledge of theatrical style, conventions and terminology
• Strong oral communication skills
• Background in or appreciation of theatre
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and work with volunteers
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
• Strong organizational skills and highly motivated with strong work ethic
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

V. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND SAMPLE TASKS:
• Provide scenic construction and painting for 8 ECCT spring shows: Disney’s The Descendants, The Rainbow Fish Musical, The Sound of Music, Cabaret, And Then They Came For Me, Disney’s The Aristocats, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, and The Complete History of America Abridged.
• Will serve as assistant properties manager with volunteer crew heads
• Assist with sound and lighting for all ECCT productions as capable and time allows
• Provide scenic assistance for rentals and special events
• Supervise volunteers on work nights
• Serve on the running crew for shows
• Other duties as assigned
