Solomon Group is looking for a Paint Foreman to add to its Fabrication Department. This is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a deadline-driven environment where our talented designers, project managers, fabricators and technicians produce national, award-winning entertainment productions.
The individual in this position will report directly to the Fabrication Manager.
Oversee daily operations of the Paint Department.
Coordinate with PT’s and scheduling department assets to maximize assets.
Develop processes to improve productivity while maintaining quality.
Work with vendors to keep stock.
Establish Training and Safety policies and procedures.
Assure that all equipment is maintained and current.
3+ years high-end finishing experience.
Experience with latex paints, faux finishing, sample making.
Experience with commercial-grade finishes (lacquers, catalyzed paints, automotive finishes).
Experience using airless, air-assisted, and HVLP spray systems.
Experience working in a large automotive spray booth.
Ability to mix and custom match paint colors and stains.
Ability to produce a high-end spray finish on various materials, including but not limited to wood, plastic, acrylic, aluminum and steel.
Experience creating material take offs.
Experience creating and maintaining paint project schedules.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
Self-motivation and independence.
Ability to simultaneously manage and complete tasks in a fast-paced industrial facility.
Ability to manage/task employees within the department in an efficient and professional manner to complete projects on time.
Ability to work well with other shop employees to successfully move projects through the fabrication shop in an efficient manner.
Ability to work well with others to create and maintain a positive work environment.
A flexible schedule and the ability to work nights, weekends and/or holidays as needed.
Willingness to learn and practice new finishing techniques outside of scope of experience.
Candidate may be asked to perform spray test prior to being offered employment.
