Dorset Theatre Festival, an acclaimed AEA summer company in Vermont, seeks a professional Scenic Charge Artist for its 2018 summer season. Employment dates run early June through early September.
The Scenic Charge Artist will report to the Production Manager and Technical Director. Responsibilities include scene painting for 4 plays, supervising a Scene Painting Apprentice, and overseeing paint calls. Additional responsibilities are possible depending on availability and
shop progress. Professional scene painting experience is required. The ideal candidate will have artistic sensibility and sensitivity, strong collaborative skills, and the ability to collaborate with designers on a tight timeline and budget, while maintaining high quality and standards. Some teaching/mentorship experience is also desirable. Valid driver’s license required; access to personal vehicle desired.
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience and shared housing provided for the summer season.
