Overview

SCENIC ARTIST – Connecticut Repertory Theatre, professional performance arm of University of Connecticut’s Department of Dramatic Arts, seeks a scenic artist for our summer season.  Must know common scenic painting techniques and surface treatments, including but not limited to translucencies, carving, texturing, ageing, distressing, marbling, and wood graining.  This season’s shows are Disaster, Sweeney Todd, and Jesus Christ Superstar.  Season: Mid-May to mid July. Contracts are 8 – 9 weeks. Salaries: Competitive, free housing available.  All performances will be in the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre (486 seats) on the UConn campus, Storrs.  Last season, the Nutmeg Series played to approximately 12,000 audience members.
