Overview

Great River Shakespeare Festival is seeking a Charge Artist for our 2019 season. The Charge Artist shall be primarily responsible for the painting of all scenic items for the season and be available to touch-up/adjust any and all scenic items until the end of the contract. The Charge Artist is required to work with Technical Director to achieve a master schedule in terms of labor, time, and budget to allow the painting of scenery to be implemented in a coordinated fashion. The Charge Artist may also be involved in teaching interns, staff, and volunteers about the safe operations of tools, spaces, and gear as necessary. The Charge Artist is the dedicated painter on staff. Assistance with painting may come from interns and apprentices, but only after coordination of time and schedules with the Technical Director. The Charge Artist is an independent contractor. Anticipated dates for the 2019 season are May 21 through July 4. This is a paid position (paid in installments), with housing and travel stipend is included in the contract.This is the Great River Shakespeare Festival’s 16th season (http://grsf.org/), performing indoors at the Winona State University campus, in Winona, Minnesota.
