Overview

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the painting of all projects on the fabrication floor, while maintaining a dialogue with the scenic staff, other department heads and production management to achieve the vision and goals of the client

Working with other departments and project managers on ensuring that fabrication processes and materials are appropriate for final paint treatment

Ensure projects stay on schedule and on budget, as per allocated man days and materials

Coordinate space on the floor and set-up requirements with other department heads to keep a good workflow for all

Create samples for clients off reference materials, while also keeping a detailed log of procedure/ recipe to be duplicated by the crew of painters.

Maintain sample libraries and research to show clients

Hire and manage non-union employees as needed on a per job basis

Maintain and develop Paint Department staff and their professional and technical knowledge by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, developing and providing educational opportunities.

Oversee the supply inventory of materials to ensure the timely purchase of required materials.

Maintain an emphasis on health and safety by ensuring compliance with all OSHA, company and customer requirements regarding all quality, environmental, health and safety regulations at all times, including but not limited to maintaining training and compliance logs

. Qualifications:

5+ years experience in entertainment industry, including supervisory experience.

Ability to read technical drawings; proficiency in computer applications a plus.

Strong understanding of scenic construction, materials and scenic painting techniques

A solid command of color theory

Ability to effectively prioritize, execute, and problem solve in a high pressure environment and work efficiently within given time constraints.

Ability to communicate ideas clearly.

Ability to address issues, troubleshoot and resolve problems efficiently

Willingness and drive to Improve processes, methods, and workflow

Self-motivated; team oriented and highly collaborative work style.
